Product Overview

Traditional buffer systems rely solely on a round-wire compression spring. The MBS uses a hybrid: staggered magnetic fields alongside precision-tuned springs. Magnetic resistance is staged so bolt-carrier inertia is absorbed in phases, each calibrated to the mass and velocity of the intended caliber. Progressive damping means less felt recoil, less muzzle rise, faster follow-up shots, and less shooter fatigue.

Staged magnetic fields

Carrier inertia is taken in phases instead of one spring stack. Tune is caliber-specific on the MBS-C.

No mil-spec twang

Quieter than a traditional AR-15 buffer system. The round-wire spring noise is gone.

Flash hider stays useful

Recoil work moves to the rear of the rifle so a flash hider—or a flash-hider / suppressor combo—can stay on the muzzle.

Built for cans

Suppressors raise gas pressure and mechanical recoil. Staged magnets take that impulse so you are not forced onto a heavier buffer alone.

Muzzle devices and suppressors

Shooters often pick a brake or compensator over a flash hider for stability. The MBS does that work at the back of the gun, so a flash hider is more balanced and more useful—especially on suppressed setups. Skip the brake if you want less concussion and less gas blowback, or run MBS with a brake when you want both.

Suppressors typically max out a traditional spring and push people to heavier buffers that slow the rate of fire. Magnetic fields are specified to mitigate that extra mechanical recoil.

Precision built in the USA

6-position 7075-T6 tube

    Pleasantly surprised –

Like anybody else nowadays I was looking up reviews on these guys and didn’t find much but the very few I did see compared them to Failzero and cryptic coatings and I have to say I’m thouroly impressed went to oil it up a bit and usually the oil just kinda stays on the BCG not this it flew down to the other side of the bolt other than the green not being quite as bright as the picture I love this thing im glad I took a chance on this would buy again

I would off probably given higher stars but I never received my item I purchased. Sent email but no response. Item shows label created but never shipped.

This works. Replaced my 7.5 oz buffer and carbine spring in my AR-9, the recoil impulse is indescribably different than the regular buffer and spring, feels more like a push than a punch.
I can’t say if it is measurably less recoil for sure, but it definitely feels less and softer than the normal buffer system.
I don’t think you will be disappointed

NEXT LEVEL. Comfort. Noise. Recoil. FryTech is legit. I will definitely be purchasing the rest of the line. The future is here. Thanks. Satisfied customer.

A great FryTech collaboration. Keep up the good work Fry. This is a great add to my collection. Sits in the safe right next to my brujeria.

This thing is awesome my ar shoots so flat and so soft it’s crazy. I bought the Hades combo the two of them together basically delete recoil. I’ll be ordering another one soon.

Amazing. I was skeptical of there being much difference. I was one of the first to order one since I know Fry’s been working really hard on this. I am really impressed on how smooth and light the recoil impulse is . I highly recommend giving it a shot if you have the resources to put into it .

I’ve hated the spring twang since boot camp. It’s gone with the mag buffer. Easy to install and it even caught the rear takedown detent spring when it slipped and attempted to launch into orbit. Stuck right to the magnet. Recoil
Impulse is weird in a good way. Much more linear instead of a quick spike. The muzzle doesn’t jump, just stays parked on target. I just put 90 rounds through it, no FTF issues at all. Stripped the first round out of a 30 rd pmag no problem. Will buy more for sure.

Saw this on X and decided to give it a shot, long been a fan of the silent capture system since I dislike the AR platform Spring noise. I have shot this buffer with two different uppers, a 12.5 patrol length Uppers and a heavily over gassed LMT 11.5 Upper, both un-suppressed and suppressed with Flow through suppressors. This really changed the recoil impulse with both uppers, much softer and very smooth. It even softened the LMT which is over gassed. The ejection is still forward of 3 o’clock but much better than with a full tungsten silent capture system and the Geissele Super 42 spring and H3 buffer.

I will be purchasing a second one soon.

Worked as advertised. I guess the best endorsement for a product is repeat sales. Definitely another one in my future.
Thank You Frytech and pmtactical for bringing this to the market.

I am changing ALL of my buffers now, my 9MM, 5.56, .308 ALL of them. The shooting is SMOOTH. CLEAN, there is no “Sprang” from the springs. This should be the ONLY way it is made.

I have just now gotten back from the range for testing. I put this on an older AR build that has a Superlative Arms piston for a 16″ barrel. Shot supressed. It was a drastic improvement in how the recoil stayed level and felt softer. Once I adjusted the gas block, it was just functioning flawlessly. I am very pleased with the results. It shoots with the recoil impulse comparable to my $2400 target AR that has a a top of the line hydraulic system and is tuned to my handloads.

Only gave this 5 stars because I can’t give it 6. Y’all are probably conservative in your recoil reduction claim. It’s almost unfathomable how this thing feels to shoot. One hand on the foregrip, the other BARELY holding onto the grip while holding the rifle away from the body and it moves straight back about 2 inches SMOOTHLY with an easy return to zero. 14.5″ 5.56 with SilencerCo 3 port brake. Makes double taps at distance on a bipod/squeeze bag laughably simple.

Installation instructions are straightforward and simple. Even had to take the tube off at 1 point and because I kept the shipping retaining pin that was not difficult at all.

This thing makes SS (FRT) mode so much fun!

I build many ARs as a manufacturer and have seen and been through multiple different designs. This MBS is a very easy install and while test firing it was smooth and it seemed that it reduces a bit a recoil as well. Worked great, surprisingly smooth action. They only bad thing i have to say about it, is because it is a magnetic system…it tries to pick up every tool and part on my bench lol. But on a good note, it also found some lost springs so I will take it lol. A seriously good product, I highly recommend them.

The steel castle nut and steel end plate seems to directly interfere with the magnets by slowing them down last second and preventing the bolt from fully going into battery, tests without the steel products allow my midlength gas piston 16″ to chamber 100%. I tested at first if removing the bolt spring from the adams arms bcg would have an effect but the buffer system seems to not care about that as much as the steel construction of the castle nut and end plate. I’ve ordered aluminum replacements to test effectiveness, then I might consider dissassembly to replace the spring inside the mbs that was initially marketed to not have a spring at first. (pamax why, this is at odds with initial prototypes that worked and I feel this nullifies the novelty of it!)

I’ve also noticed any ferrous metal touching or close to the buffer tube will also cause intermittent cycling issues.

Added to my suppressed 11.5” with SA adjustable piston kit. It took my already very small muzzle movement to ZERO. Double tapping 10” steel at 220yrd with a red dot and 3x flip up. Looking forward to additional testing.
